He is a specialist in auction techniques and strategies and has been a member of the NAA (National Auctioneers Association of America) for the past 10 years. He is also the first non-American to obtain the CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) and AARE (Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate) designation degrees and is the first in South Africa to hold such titles.
